The chilly months are around the corner and Range Servant would like to offer tips that will help you prepare your golf range for the winter.
Ball Dispenser
In the control cabinet (inside the door where the payment system is located) moisture can build up when it gets cold. We recommend that put in a moisture-absorbing product, which can be purchased at any local hardware store.
Also, loosen the lower plate, which sits on the dispenser with two hooks, and clean out any debris, and leaves to keep out any unwelcomed guests from building a nest over the winter.
Ball Washer
No matter which washer you have, it is important to protect it from freezing. The water valve, which is connected to the main water pipe, could easily freeze. Please refer to the picture below. Loosen the connection from the valve so that all access water runs out of the hose. Dry the inside of the valve until completely dry. If the washer is uninsulated, please insulate the valve on the washer.

Always clean the trough and washer brush before the winter. If possible, move the washer to a dry and warm room to prevent freezing.
Picker
Wash the picker using a dish brush with clean water. When the picker is completely dry, lubricate all the moveable parts before moving the picker to storage for the winter.
Ditch
No matter if you have a concrete- or plastic collection ditch, it is important to empty all water and clean it completely. Also, clean out any debris, and leaves to keep out any unwelcomed guests from building a nest over the winter.
Blower
PLEASE NOTE: The control cabinet must be turned off before performing any work!
Remove the panel on the blower unit. Use compressed air, if possible, to blow away dirt and dust around the guiding and feeding wheels, as well as the compressor.

Tips to re-use Range Mats
Older range mats can be cut into smaller pieces and used as fairway mats for the winter, as well as on the golf course to hide plastic covers for the water system.
